Welcome, My name is Marla Burke and I have lived in Haycock Township in Bucks County Pennsylvania for almost thirty years. Haycock is an amazing place to live, with over 50% of the township zoned as preserved land. With so much wildlife and beauty “popping” out all around us, I believe this has inspired my work. The past few years, I have taken the art of capturing an image with photography and created a new art form. My ambition was to make my photos different from other photos …… to stand out. I feel I have literately done this by creating a process that I call “Photo Popping”. It incorporates imprinting an image on to a special blend of stretchy material and selecting an area of the photo that can “POP”. Placing the printed material under a clear piece of acrylic and using the selected part of the image as your guide, on the top surface of the acrylic, I sculpt that area to create a true three dimensional representation. Each piece is individually hand sculpted. Then I transfer the material from below and apply it to the top of the sculpted piece. This raised surface creates a 3D look to the photo. It's as if part of the picture was coming out of the print. Watching people view the art always puts a smile on my face. They look from the left side, then the right side, trying to figure out how this 3 dimensional photo was created. Being able to get people to look......really look at your art is rewarding.

For taking the time to look..........

Thank You!! Enjoy!
